A Daisy Oasis

There she stood
Stranded in a field
People surrounded her
But not one knew her
Going about their day
Smiling up at familiar faces
Speaking inaudible words
Actions which meant nothing to her
She wanted more
To feel what is suggested
But her wish was not granted
So, there she stood
Living a life of lies
Interacting with many
Where no single soul stood out
And not one ever will

For No Reason But I Do

Because Love is wild
It is an untamed animal
With no rules or regulations
It bites, it claws, and it devours
Demanding more than what one is willing to give
And yet, he held all the cards
Going above and beyond
He made Night jealous
For in his eyes were stars
They shown brighter than the moon
And clearer than the North
Only one could match their intensity
She made Day jealous
For in her eyes there was nothing
Nothing but spirit
They didn’t twinkle or shimmer
Nor were they bright with light
Instead she held life
Within her eyes, nature contended
The elements somehow converged
Moving swiftly and peacefully together
Bringing not a desire but the energy
Together, they were a pair
But they were not alone
Because Love is wild
It is an untamed animal
With no rules or regulations
It bites, it claws, and it devours
Demanding that all hear its mighty roar

Fair Game

An eagle soars high above
Breaking through clouds
Undisturbed by nothing but the sun’s glowing rays

It is seen to be magnificent even grand
Yet it is just a bird
A flying bird
Minding its own business

Crows fly
Sparrows, Pigeons, Wrens
They all fly
Gliding through the same air
Creating the same image

Following Darwin’s charts
They live to simply pass on
And die to strengthen the rest

So why is an eagle remembered
And I am left forgotten?
